Free online workshop • "Think through Your Beliefs"

Joe believes he won’t get a raise, so he doesn’t ask for one. Julie believes the stock market will make gains, so she invests. Kevin believes that God doesn’t love him, so he returns the favor. Sandi believes she’ll have another piece of cake, so she puts the kettle on.

We all believe something, and we all live according to what we believe. What we believe matters.

A belief is anything that you hold to be true but cannot prove. What, exactly, do you believe? Why do you believe it? Are your beliefs sound? Can they be shaken? Should they be?

A silver lining to the current unpleasantness is the opportunity for innovation! Our local meetup community is not gathering, so I am working on online versions of The Thinkery’s workshops. The first one is ready! It’s a free workshop: “Think through Your Beliefs”. This on-demand video workshop walks you through a process of examining your beliefs, individually or in a group.

Part 1: Get Clarity on What You Believe

Part 2: Find a Good Reason to Believe

If you participate in the exercise, expect to spend an hour or two. If you just watch the video, it will take you 30 minutes. Either way, you’ll cultivate skills and traits that help you discern truth from error and establish a habit of building thoughtful, sound beliefs.

I encourage you to invest this time and keep an eye out for more online workshops. Be well, and live thoughtfully!

Thanks Liz! Most of us don’t want to take the effort to examine our beliefs–especially in religion and politics! Thanks for challenging us.
